Top Senior Athletes to be honored at Pensacola Sports banquet May 7

Pensacola, Fla. (May 6, 2026) – Since the early 80s, Pensacola Sports has celebrated the dedication, talent and heart of our area’s top senior student-athletes through a scholarship recognition program. High schools across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties nominate outstanding seniors who have excelled in their respective sports on and off the field. Many of those recognized over the years have gone on to play college and professional sports.

A selection committee, made up of educators, community leaders and Pensacola Sports board members, carefully reviews each anonymous application, honoring those whose character, leadership and achievements truly stand out. From these sport-specific winners, Pensacola Sports is honored to recognize one exceptional young man and woman as overall scholarship recipients. Congratulations to all of our nominees.

Overall Female and Male

Our overall female and male will both receive a $5,000 scholarship provided by the Appleyard Family.

Dr. Alec Kessler Memorial Scholarship

Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

UWF Scholarship

The University of West Florida will award each student with a $1,500 scholarship.

Team Super Star - Multi-Sport Scholarship

Team Super Star will award two individuals each with a $500 scholarship.

Individual Sports Winners

Pensacola State College will award 25 individual sports winners with a one-year $900 renewable scholarship.
